Printmaking Centre

The Printmaking Centre is a space for students to practice and explore the printmaking processes. Students in Early Years explore printing with their hands and feet. Following from that they learn simple monoprinting and styrofoam printing techniques. They use special printing inks that come in a variety of vibrant colours. Texture printing plates can be hand made by gluing various materials directly onto their printing plate. Rubber bands, string, bubble wrap, feathers, there are endless possibilities! The upper elementary students are drawn to more advanced techniques such as linocuts, creating rubber stamps, balsa foam carving, and collagraph printing.
