Fibre Centre

The fibre centre is a space where students can explore various fibre art using natural and synthetic fibre. Students learn how to thread a needle and tie a knot. They learn the basic hand sewing stitches such as running stitch, blanket stitch and whip stitch. There is a sewing machine, older students use this to make blankets and pillows once they have mastered their hand sewing. Needle felting is a popular technique, students form 3D shapes out of natural felting wool that comes in lot of colours. Weaving is a process even our younger students can enjoy, they can create their own custom made loom using a paper plate, foam board or just a piece of cardboard does the trick!
